In India, trend for localized search engine is gaining weight as many companies like Asklaila, Burrp and Webaroo have offered local engines to make local searches like ‘open air’ restaurant in Bangalore, realistic. These local searches can share a huge chunk of 100 crores searches which are made per month in India.

One such company that can compete with area of local search with big players like Google, Yahoo and Microsoft is Asklaila.com run by Shriram Adukoori, the ex-country head of Microsoft Network India and South Asia and Former Microsoft employee Kiran Konduri. In respect of local searches youth prefer Internet to yellow pages where local search engines for searches. In United States 60 percent of $25 billion search industry is local search.
